Welcome

Welcome!!

W
elcome to my new blog, and thank you for taking the time to be here.

I am not yet sure how often I will post, but I hope that you will find what I do post of interest.

A bit about me :

I have been involved with technology, and in particular as it relates to various forms of security, since 1997.

I have been a keen photographer for most of my life, and it made sense that when I became involved in the Electronic Security industry - as most understand it - in 2000 my passion was for CCTV solutions.

My first foray into remote CCTV monitoring, on an event driven basis, was in 2008. This was really the early days of this technology in South Africa, at a time when internet connectivity was still pretty slow (well, it still is in relation to the rest of the world) and bandwidth was expensive. (Ditto)

Over the years I have learned a lot - the way to gain experience is to do things, then find the solution to the unexpected problems which are sure to arise. If you are not encountering unexpected problems it means simply that you are not thinking "big enough".

As technology advances, so do the needs of the end user. We need to be continually pushing the boundaries in the design of the solutions we offer to clients. A client who receives more than he expects, or believes possible,
